Using the "Pack It Out" method is ideal for maintaining hygiene and minimizing environmental impact in a desert setting. This involves carrying out all waste, including human waste and toilet paper.

Hygiene Practices

1. Portable Toilet:
   • Use a high-quality portable toilet designed for overland travel.
   • Ensure it has a secure lid to prevent spills.
2. Waste Bags:
   • Use heavy-duty, leak-proof bags specifically designed for human waste.
   • Double-bagging is recommended for added security.
3. Hand Hygiene:
   • Bring biodegradable soap or hand sanitizer.
   • Wash hands thoroughly after disposal and before eating.
4. Toilet Paper Disposal:
   • Store used toilet paper in a separate sealed bag until you can dispose of it properly.
5. Site Selection:
   • Select a site that is at least 200 feet away from water sources, trails, and campsites.
